Fitter Machinist & Skilled Operator

THE ROLE

As a Machine Shop Technician, you will be responsible for: 

  • Programming and operating 3,4 and 5 axis CNC machines

  • CMN (Conventional Machining Network) machining

  • Loading/unloading enclosures, tools and programs

  • Monitoring machine operations and performing quality control checks

  • Conducting routine maintenance on machines and tools

  • Producing and inspecting prototype, R&D and one off parts

  • CAD modelling for machining tasks

  • Supporting reworks, part modifications, and hardware output

  • Participating in team meetings and continuous improvement

  • Maintaining a clean and tidy work environment

Criteria - Required

  • Must be an Australian citizen and eligible for a NV1 Defence Security Clearance

  • Certificate III n Engineering Mechanical or Trade certificate in Fitting and Machining (preferred)

  • Current driver’s licence

Criteria - Desired

  • CNC and/or steel manufacturing experience

  • Familiarity with CAD modelling and machine maintenance

  • Experience working with international standards, such as ISO 9001, AS9100, and ASME Y14.5

  • NV1 Security Clearance
